Selling Men’s Rings

Wednesday, May 20th, 2009

I sell men’s rings for a living. So, I have come to know somewhat of the styles and fashions, the pricing and materials. There is also the question of quality and how pricing affects quality. In addition, these products can be sold in malls, on street corners, at swap meets and of course these days you can find a number of sites online.

No two people will approach this business the same. I have seen all kinds of rings being sold from tungsten rings to ceramic rings. In fact there are too many different styles, materials and fashions in this category to even mention. But a person has to start somewhere and decide what kind, what fashion, what quality and price to sell. That is what I did.

I wanted scratch-proof products that were well made, high quality, at fair prices. I chose not to sell in malls or brick and mortar stores because I reasoned that the more overhead I incurred the more I would have to charge for my rings - that is why I am an online seller.

Coming to grips with your ring size

Wednesday, May 20th, 2009

Not all men’s rings are sized the same.  For instance there are select products that have what is termed a “comfort fit”. This allows, for instance a tungsten ring, to slip on and off the finger much easier than one that does not have this feature. It is still snug, but it simply is easier to remove and place on the finger. So when sizing a ring with this feature, you can actually buy a smaller size than normal. I highly recommend it.

Another consideration when sizing is to take into account the temperature. When temperatures are hot or you have been working hard, your finger will swell and thus the sizing is different. Or, in the winter your finger may actually reduce by a 1/2 size.

Some styles can easily be sized - others cannot. The harder the material, the harder to size. Titanium rings, although very hard can still be sized by most jewelers. Many other materials can also be sized - but remember about the temperature and don’t buy the wrong size just because you haven’t remembered this important detail!

Would a man rather receive a ring or a watch for a gift?

Wednesday, May 20th, 2009

First of all, I am writing this as a man. So I am somewhat biased. And additionally, I am going to answer this with a big - it depends. If he already has a number of men’s rings, then it follows he might be more interested in something else. That’s what I mean by it depends.

The other day I saw a ceramic ring that I fell in love with - black, sleek, beveled, eye-catching, scratch resistant, and overall was just a magnificent piece of jewelry. I became somewhat biased as I considered what I wanted more - particularly in that I had a nice watch that was given to me less than 10 years ago from my nephew.

Maybe the real solution is to understand the person for whom the gift is going to … a few intelligent questions might make the question all the more easy to figure out.

One other suggestion, don’t spend more than you have to regardless of which gift you select. There are places to shop that can save you hundreds of dollars. I found mine at mensringstore.com. Shopping online makes a lot of sense when you are pressed for time and hate to tight the traffic like I do.

Tungsten rings are selling everywhere!

Tuesday, May 19th, 2009

Europe. United States. Latin America. Middle East. The newer tungsten rings are available in most countries and at a variety of prices. They have become ever more popular since the characteristics that embody this style have become more well known. As you are probably aware - they are virtually maintenance free. Scratch proof. Dent proof. Mar proof. They do not discolor. They do not oxidize. And even if they break - most legitimate companies these days offer a lifetime warranty against such!

They have become the men’s ring. You can find them in most malls - at fine jewelry stores - or online at a number of different sites. You might be careful to buy the right kind - tungsten carbide rings are a patented design using a 30-step finishing process and there are many companies that sell these same types except they are “knock offs” - not using the same high quality materials and certainly not the same 30-step patented finishing process.

To be sure - know where to shop - I know they are available at mensringstore.com amd other fine jewelers.

Men’s rings are best bought online!

Tuesday, May 19th, 2009

I was looking for a men’s ring. I looked everywhere. I checked out malls. I checked out small stores in strip-malls. I finally made my way to try online shopping although I am not an expert. I was worried about the fact that I would have no help if I had a question or wanted to change my mind and I even wondered how I would pay for one if I found the perfect one …

They have made this process so easy these days. I shopped mensringstore.com. HUGE selection. Fairly priced. All the safe-guards about buying the wrong one or getting the wrong size or returning or whatever. But what I liked the most was that I did not have to leave the comfort of my home, of my office!

The appear to specialize in the newer, hipper, fashions such as tungsten rings or ceramic rings. But they had many others in all sizes (from size 4 up to 16) and all colors, styles, price ranges, and with a ton of different inlaid materials.

Online! It’s the new, faster and secure way to shop these days. They have protections for your credit cards and your personal information as well. GO ahead - try it - you’ll be glad you did!!

Tungsten rings are heavier than most other rings

Tuesday, May 19th, 2009

That’s true - a tungsten ring is far heavier than most other categories and materials. Why? Well there are many reasons but probably the main reason is the actual tungsten carbide material that they are made of is a very heavy material.

I have worn a number of different styles made of many different materials but none appeared heavier to me than this one. A ceramic ring looks like these but they are far, far lighter.

Does it matter how heavy they are and how they feel? Some say it matters a lot - they want one that is there to be seen but not felt. I personally agree with this philosophy.

For a wide slection of some of the finest men’s rings I have seen you  might want to check out mensringstore.com. They have over 90 styles and are highly discounted off most retail prices. Another reason I like this site is that they have a lifetime warranty and a 30-day return or satisfaction guarantee. Combine this with their huge selection and their discounted prices and you have it all - reagardless fo whether or not you want a light one, a dark one, a heavy one or a fancy one!

The mother of all rings

Tuesday, May 19th, 2009

What could it be? Gold? No. Platinum? No. There is no easy answer but I am going to at least try and offer some perspective on this subject.

I have been researching all kinds of rings lately. For a man - a men’s ring - I am going to say a titanium ring is the best of all worlds! Why?

They look very sleek and expensive but are generally under $500 - even for the nicest ones. The come in a variety of styles, colors, inlaid materials, etc. One of my favorites is one that has nitinol cable running throughout with or without real diamonds suspended in the design.

The best places to buy them is online for the cost savings but there are also a variety of stores that sell them in malls all across the US.

Capturing the luster in your ring

Tuesday, May 19th, 2009

I have noticed that there are certain rings that seem to capture light and reflect it in marvelous ways. One that really caught my attention was a men’s ring called a ceramic ring.

This style had it all - it was rugged enough for a man yet had a luster and finish that was very, very eye-catching. My favorite was a black style that had multiple beveled edges that caught light from a hundred ways and reflected it in a magnificent pattern. I think the first time I saw one of these was about 6 months ago and since I have seen them sold with quite some regularity at online locations.

Another bebefit to the ceramic rings style is their scratch-resistant finish - it is virtually mar-proof and will not tarnish. The better ones have a color all the way through the ring so that if it were to get scratched it would not show like the ones that have just a thin coating of the black material.

Tungsten rings rock!

Tuesday, May 12th, 2009

Why do I say this? Because I believe it. Because I have one. Because I know many people who own a tungsten ring and they love it! It begs the question - why are so many people purchasing these types and styles these days - all over the world?

I think there are many reasons. First, they come in so many, many different varieties and sizes and are worn by both men and women. Second, they are so very resistant to scratching. Third, they are durable enough for it to be considered a real men’s ring. And fourth, they can be inlaid with all types of beautiful and stylish materials including diamonds.

These elegant jewelry pieces are every bit as nice, as fashionable and as durable as the hot titanium ring designs on the market today but they are even more durable and long lasting.

Do online sites that advertise men’s rings also sell women’s rings?

Tuesday, May 12th, 2009

You wouldn’t think so but my research indicates that most stores - even those touting men’s rings only - actually sell a wide variety of women’s rings as well.

Take for example the mensringstore.com site. Although one would expect just men’s, they actually sell a surprising wide variety in sizes beginning at 4! That is not a man’s ring size!

Take for instance the Triton 21-2058S - this is a stainless steel ring beginning in size 4 - for women. Bottom line you can get matching rings for the man and woman by just shopping for the right size.

In checking further, there are over 50 styles that come in size 4 and above! 50! So, for those of you who need a female product - check them out and don’t let the name mislead you!!!
