What’s the difference between a mens wedding band a mens ring?

Tuesday, August 25th, 2009

The short answer - nothing. I’ve been studying mens rings for over a year now and I find something very interesting in this search. All mens rings that I have seen - whether they are tungsten mens rings, ceramic rings or solid gold - can be worn on any finger on either hand therefore they can be used to indicate marriage or friendship or just for plain eye-catching good looks!

Not so for a womans ring. They can be purchased in the same fine materials as mentioned above - but they have distinct looks and purposes for most womens rings. They have engagement rings that are meant specifically for the left hand with ornate complimentary fashions as wedding rings. You rarely see a woman wear one of these special ring combinations on her right hand. Usually when I see a woman doing so - wearing a wedding ring combination on her right hand - it indicates that she has been married but not now. Typically it is a symbol of love and remembrance for a lost loved one.

Back to men for a moment … does a particular stone or style of ring mean marriage versus just fashion? The answer is again no - they can be worn at anytime on any finger for any purpose. As a ring connoisseur, I might just try and change this fashion culture by ordering a certain style of mens ring that should be worn just on the left hand and just on the third or ring finger and that mean marriage - lawful and legal marriage. Do you think I can pulls this off? Let me know your thoughts …

Are Tungsten Rings affordable?

Tuesday, August 4th, 2009

I have looked everywhere for tungsten rings. On line and in the malls. I have looked at eBay and at swap meets, even at pawn shops. I have seen men’s rings from $9.99 to $999.99 and higher. I have come to some conclusions about the affordability of this new style. I have come to these conclusions based upon hours of comparisons to other ring types such as titanium, gold, silver and ceramic. You name it - I have searched them out, analyzed them from a cost perspective and again, made some conclusions that I am hopeful will be of some value to you …

Tungsten rings can be purchased online from eBay for between $25 and $50. These appear to be good quality rings although my guess is that most of them are made in China and other foreign countries. If they use real tungsten carbide and have not cut corners in the manufacturing process, then these would be great values. The problem is that no one really knows how they make them, what they are made of and why they can be bought so cheap.

Another strategy is to fine a seller who carries a patented or protected line of tungsten rings that have a solid written warranty and their styles are known to be carried in other retail sites all over the country. One such line that I have found is the Triton Collection out of New York. They are really fine mens tungsten rings and are a little pricier than the ones on eBay and other cheaper sites.

Bottom line: these styles and fashions are not only affordable they are gorgeous and last forever - so good luck with your search!
