Men’s Ring Store - Why sell men’s rings online?

Monday, June 22nd, 2009

You’d expect that with a name like mensringstore.com that they sell men’s rings. Correct. But, they also sell women’s rings. Confused? I was too until I did a little research.

Here’s what I found out. Most of the styles on their site are guy’s types of styles and fashions - heavier, rugged, well made, durable, etc. Take a tungsten ring for example. These are made to last a lifetime and not show scratches, dents, dings, discolor or fade. They simply last and last and are backed with a lifetime warranty and a 30-day return policy for whatever reason. And here’s the interesting thing - they are available in a huge variety of sizes from a dainty woman’s size of 4 all the way up to a gargantuan men’s size of 16!

So - if you happen to be one of the many couples who would like matching fashions - you can buy the exact same ring in your two sizes from this online seller … there you have it. A mens ring site that sells to ladies as well. Pretty clever I think. But maybe they got the name wrong … maybe it should have been called mensandwomensringstore.com?

One other thought - why not open a retail store as well? Whatever the name, it seems to me that having more than just one location is a good move. But what do i know ….

Getting past the quality issue with mens wedding bands

Thursday, June 18th, 2009

Have you noticed that a typical mens wedding band ranges in price from $100-500? Now this range can also extend downwards of $20 and up to the thousands. Ever wondered why? In some cases you can attribute the majority of this factor to just plain greed, commonly referred to as markup in the jewelry industry. You can buy cheaper knock off mens rings from the US, China and third-world countries. They typically cost far less, no patents on the designs and no standards by which to govern the production and shipping and service processes. You can lump these factors into a “get what you pay for” strategy.

I have found personally that buying a ring - regardless for what purpose (gift, significant other, wedding, etc.) is a matter of research, finding the right seller, determining the budget and analyzing the service after the sale components. I am also one who throws out the highest price and the lowest price. My experience has taught me that buying cheap is really buying wrong and that buying expensive tends to break the bank - at least for me!

I found a site online called mensringstore.com. They sell mid and mid-high mens rings of all styles, fashions, prices and materials. I love their return policy, I love their warranty, I love their prices. My sense is that a person can find what they are looking for at the right price - shipped within 3 business days - perfect for me!

Men’s Rings or Mens Rings?

Monday, June 15th, 2009

Oh what a difference an apostrophe makes! So, you say, who cares?! OK, OK, play along for  amoment - don’t you want to know the proper use of the apostrophe in phrases like (men’s) mens rings? No. Here is what I care about - style, fashion, durability, price, value, selling locations, inlaid materials … you get the point!

So if you don’t care about apostophres either, and most people don’t, what do YOU care about in mens wedding bands (again, with or without the apostrophes)? I’ll ask the questions and you can answer - out loud or to yourself!

1. Do you care about who makes them? (Keep in mind there are many men’s rings made in third-world countries that have very poor to non-existent quality control measures)

2. Do you care about where you buy them? (Have you experienced the ease of buying online versus in a typical retail store?)

3. How about quality of products? (have you seen the difference in a patented tungsten ring versus a non-patented knock-off from China. If not, you should pay attention to these types of things)

4. Have you noticed the difference between a plain gold band and an exquisite ring made with precious stones or carbon fiber? (Again, you can find hundreds of styles online)

5. Finally, do you care about sizing in mens and womens fashions so that you can buy a his and her fashion design? (mensringstore.com specializes in his and her fashions in sizes from 4 to 16!!!)

So whether you give a comma about an apostophe or not - think about what really matters to you the next time you venture online - if you buy right it could be a lifetime purchase!

What is a triton ring?

Thursday, June 11th, 2009

To really understand this question and to get to the best answers, a person must understand something about the Triton brand.

“The Triton Collection combines rugged elegance with metals that are virtually indestructible. Forged with the care and expertise of a master mechanic, this high-performance collection provides a comfort level geared to an active man’s lifestyle.” - from the Triton Consumer Web Site

This collection is comprised of a number of different materials for ring designs – tungsten, titanium and stainless steel and all can be found at mensringstore.com. The brand is centered on quality. Patented quality. All of this collection’s tungsten rings are protected by patent TC.850 and six other patents. Very few carry this collection online – most sellers are found in malls and retail stores throughout the world.

The Goldman company owns the Triton Collection of rings – they are made to last and interestingly enough they are made not just for men. They are made in practically ALL sizes, from 4-16, so women can wear these fashions the same as the men. You can tell a Triton ring by its luster and manly, rugged design. They are best known for their “nitinol cable” fashions in one of their collections. These are some of the most sought after designs in men’s rings. Most have one or more cables running concentrically around the design with many sporting a real diamond somewhere in the creation.

Recently they were awarded the JCK Jewelers Choice Award for 2009. This prestigious award is given to the most creative, advanced and quality-driven designer of jewelry – one noted for their uncompromising dedication to a never-ending quest for innovation and excellence in the jewelry industry. Contemporary and bold, the unique alternative metal designs in hypoallergenic materials are most distinctive.

Frederick Goldman is the only authorized and sole manufacturer of Triton rings. Make sure when you are searching for your next ring that you pick a brand worth wearing – a brand like Triton. It pays to buy right the first time in whatever jewelry you are considering – particularly when it symbolizes something very long-term and special in your life and in the life of your loved ones. Remember, almost anyone can make something cheap and sell it cheap – it takes a real craftsman to create a timeless piece of fine jewelry made to last a lifetime.

And if you are interested in more than just a ring for your collection of fine products, the Triton brand also incorporates other dynamic and personable creations such as men’s bracelets. Made in the same high quality materials and to the same high standards, you can’t go wrong with matching pieces for your wearing pleasure.

What’s the difference between tungsten and tungsten carbide rings?

Thursday, June 11th, 2009

Generally speaking these terms are interchangeable. The correct term to use is Tungsten Carbide rings. Why? Because of the way these are made. Tungsten in its powder form is combined with carbon using heat which forms tungsten carbide.
Tungsten’s atomic number is 74 and it is the hardest metal in the world. Interestingly, this metal is 10 times harder than 18k gold and rates 8-9 on the Mohs hardness scale (only diamonds are higher at 10 on this scale). It also has the highest tensile strength.
In its raw form the metal is steel gray and typically maintains this color and characteristic even after being formed with carbon into its final state.
One might wonder why this substance was used to craft jewelry - the answer lies in the following:
· Most scratch-resistant in the world
· Hypoallergenic
· Never needs polishing
· Scratch resistant
· Does not fade or discolor
· Is probably the most durable of all rings on the planet
You can find these products all over the world. One of the most cost-effective places is online in they are usually discounted off high retail prices. My favorite is mensringstore.com because they have a huge selection, heavily discounted prices, a 30-day return policy and each one carries a lifetime warranty.
Some might ask why these rings are priced from $100 up to thousands of dollars. This occurs less from the terms we have been discussing and more from the craftsmanship and materials used in the product. For instance there are a number of manufacturers who cut corners when creating their products. The finest tungsten carbide rings that I have researched come from the Triton Collection which is not just patented but involves a 30-step process - one step left out causes a deterioration in quality of the end product. Many of these are manufactured in third world countries where cost to produce and thereby sell is far more important that end product quality. It really does pay to do your homework and choose the style and fashion that fits your needs but without cutting quality.
These beautiful creations come in a variety of styles and finishes from brushed to highly polished, from inlaid with gold and precious stones to more plain and domed. I have also seen very creative designs like carved or lasered etchings in the final product - some of the most unique and eye-catching creations on the market. I also like the sizing capabilities in that if you want his and hers - you can find sizes from 4 to 16! So make sure to check out more Tungsten rings.
And one final note - although this collection of fine rings is growing in popularity across the globe, there are other styles, products, materials and precious stones and inlaid materials that account for over 95% of the market. I mention this because although this author feels the tungsten carbide ring genre is one of the finest and will be a long-term player, don’t forget that if you need a product that is not quite as heavy to wear you might want to look into titanium or ceramic rings.

These beautiful creations come in a variety of styles and finishes from brushed to highly polished, from inlaid with gold and precious tones to more plain and domed. I also like the sizing capabilities in that if you want his and hers - you can find sizes from 4 to 16! So make sure to check out more Tungsten carbide rings.

Stand aside for the man with the tungsten ring!

Tuesday, June 9th, 2009

It’s a long story but you’re going to get the short version - well kind of.

Thirty-two years ago - a fairly wintry day in 1977. No one was outside - that’s how cold it was. So maybe I should say really wintry day instead of fairly wintry day. Anyway, cold. Blazing cold. Miserably cold. Get the picture? From my kitchen window - remember I said no one was outside - I see a man walking slowly down the road in his t-shirt. I kid you not. T-shirt. Black with something about the Bulls written on it even though we were in Salt Lake City not Chicago!

I called for my wife and told her to come and look at what I was seeing - I wanted her to check my eyes because I couldn’t believe what I was seeing. She is different from me, she feels sorry for him - I thought he was an idiot. she says go and invite him in and I said are you crazy? Knowing her, I knew she was serious and again, knowing her, I just mumbled something incoherent under my breath as I bundled up to brave the weather - did I say cold? Really cold???!!!!

As I approach he ways and I see he doesn’t even have gloves on! But he has this major league smile and when I tell him to come in and sit by the fire and warm up - he protests, saying he is just going to the train station which is only a few blocks away. Not wanting to confront my wife without him, I insisted - just for a few minutes. So he obliged.

OK - I’ll get to the point. he had been robbed a few hours earlier - he sold men’s rings and all of his tungsten rings had been stolen along with his new coat, gloves, watch, etc. he said he worked for mensringstore.com, an online seller of jewelry and rings. One of the nicest gentlemen I have ever met - frankly I was delighted my wife insisted on helping him. I felt blessed because we were able to drive him to his home which was  1  and 1/2  hours away - after all he had no money, no coat and would have been more miserable than ever.

I have often wondered why he has such a contagious smile after this horrible experience - I don’t know that I will ever find out but I am glad we met him just the same! Just wish I had asked him about the smile …

Comparing price when purchasing a men’s wedding ring

Tuesday, June 9th, 2009

Price matters. A lot. Can you think of a time when it didn’t? No matter how much money we have we don’t like to waste it. At least no one I know does! whether it’s cars or boas or homes or diapers or pens or phones or computers or baseball gloves or purses - price matters. for the sake of this argument - we are going to focus on men’s wedding rings.

If you don’t care where you buy it - which I do - then it gets right down to value for the money. what style and type and stone and material for the retail or selling price. It’s sometimes hard to know what the real price is when looking at the “retail” price - has it been inflated or made up just to appear high so that you think you are getting a good deal? I mean how many of us know one style from the next and are experts at stones and facets and gold qualities and you name it? I found a site online that didn’t have retail prices … strange. They all have “retail” prices but this one did not - it just had our price (which seemed fair) and the sale price on some styles. The site was mensringstore.com. With a name like that you hope they had men’s rings??!!

They did - all sizes most ranging from 4 to 16 (I mean even a woman could find a size for herself with these sizes). Very fair prices, huge selection and all the new fashions and trends in materials and stones and settings and inlaid materials - you name it. So if price counts, check them out. at least that’s what I did …

The Blackberry and the Tungsten Carbide Ring

Tuesday, June 9th, 2009

Have you seen the new BB Curve? Cool! The camera is 3.2 Mp and takes amazing pictures. it has all the features you would ever want in a smart phone including an easy to dial phone system with massive memory for contacts and a nifty calendar system that can sync with your online calendar back at home. I didn’t mean for this to be a commercial for the new Blackberry, I just really appreciate technology that works like it is supposed to and saves so mcuh hassle and time and energy.  I get tired of technology that doesn’t live up to its reputation.

When I think about men’s rings - like the tungsten carbide ring I wear - I have to admit the same feelings rise to the surface. I like things that work and look right. that do what they are advertised to do. when I bought my ring - they said it wouldn’t scratch - it doesn’t. They said it would shine with a permanent luster - it does. They said it would be eye-catching and that people would ask me where I got it - they do and I tell them - mensringstore.com!

I don’t think I am that different than most people - we expect certain things and we are ahppy and satisfied when they occur. the opposite is true as well. anyway, I love my BB Curve and I love my ring. So there you have it - I talk about both of them all the time. I need to find something else to talk about!!

When a ring matches your countenance

Tuesday, June 9th, 2009

Have you ever met someone who simply radiates? I mean you can tell they have something special inside of them. Their spirit, their smile, their inside, their eyes, their body. their flair and movements - all combine to suggest that they have it together. That they are happy to be alive. that they are living right. That they have nothing to be ashamed of or embarrassed about. I love to meet people like this - don’t you?

I met a guy the other day. Yep, he was one of these we are talking about. we were on a flight to Boston and had some time to kill and he started asking me a bunch of questions. When I told him I was a writer and specialized in writing about the latest men’s rings and jewelry and fashions such as these. He looked down at his hand, took off his ring and said - tell me about this and why I wear it!

As I looked at it I knew immediately it was a ceramic ring with a black luster and a beveled design - in fact I had seen the exact one at mensringstore.com. But I played along for a minute and told him I would have to take some time to think about it which I did. I then said, before I tell you about this, may i ask you why you radiate with a special something that says you are happy? He smiled and for the next two hours he told me about his religion and what he believed and how he came upon his beliefs - I was so engrossed I forgot about all other subjects, about time, and I forgot about his ring which I had slipped into my pocket so as not to lose it during the discussion.

Yes, you guessed it - he left and I left and I was so caught up in his happiness and in his spirit and in what he told me that I couldn’t wait to get home to tell my wife which i did. Then, I emptied my pockets and there it was - his ring. We did not even exchange names and I had no idea even what he did for a living. He just vanished. The airline would not give me any details about who he was, they said it was against company policy.

So what did I do? I put the ring on and it fit - perfectly. I wear it as a reminder of this special person - in fact sometimes I think that he might of even done it on purpose becuase that is the type of operson he was!

My Ring is Special to me

Tuesday, June 9th, 2009

There are so many voices these days telling what to like and wear and how to behave and what to do for a living and …

The other day I saw a man wearing a tungsten ring - it was the most unique ring I had ever seen. I asked him about it - what it was and where he got it and if he liked it and how much he paid - you get the picture, I asked him everything!

He was confident in his answers. That impressed me the most. he told me he purchased it online from mensringstore.com. He also told me the price which seemed reasonable but then he said something that caught my attention. He said, “my wife told me to buy a ring that meant something to me, that I liked, that was me and not her. She told me that although she loved me she felt this purchase should be distinctively mine.” Wow - does she have any sisters?

Anyway, he went on to tell me how he had heard of this style and some of the neat benefits like durability and scratch-resistant finishes and of course I could tell by the shine and luster that it was an eye-catching beauty.

What I like best was this was his - not hers. it was his decision - something he loved when he saw it and chose to make it part of his style. He mentioned they also carried ceramic rings but he chose the other style because he wanted a precious stone inliad into it and they were only offered in the ones he liked from the other colelction.
