Stainless Steel Rings - In Vogue for the Man Who Wears Uniqueness Well

Thursday, February 11th, 2010

Stainless Steel Rings - yes, rings. Not appliances. Not car decals. Men’s Rings.

I have been researching rings for a long, long time. I have seen the newcomers like tungsten and titanium and ceramic. I have followed the path of gold and silver and platinum. But there is something about a stainless steel ring that catches the eye - and I don’t mean cheap and tinny.

Take for example the Triton Collection of rings … one of my favorites is the Triton model 11-2056S. Why? In a word quality. This baby has it all -  a 7 mm, satin finish Stainless Steel ring with 14kt. Yellow Gold inlay and the comfort fit design - truly an elegant design with a touch of class.

Under $200 at most outlets (cheaper online) - you have to try it on to appreciate the eye-catching dazzle and appeal. Find the right store and you get a lifetime warranty no only from the factory but the reseller as well. And the Triton brand has a reputation for not just quality but service. In fact, buy this one and if your ring finger changes sizes years from now … $39.95 gets you a new one (all you have to do is pay for shipping).

Go ahead - take the look and then the leap - you’ll be glad you did!

The Barcelona - an 8 mm Black Beauty Men’s Ring in Stainless Steel

Monday, December 7th, 2009

The BARCELONA from Men’s Ring Store is an 8 mm black Stainless Steel ring design with white crosses – unique, hot and in demand all over the country. Stainless Steel is becoming an ever-popular design these days, partly because the styles are non-corrosive, non-allergenic yet beautiful piece of jewelry. Named for its design flair and swarthy good-looks, your man will be delighted with this eye-catching, stylish and lustrous men’s ring.

So, if you are Christmas shopping, you might want to check out this fashion or a number of other fashions either online or at the local malls. Rings are a continual reminder of friendship and love and if you buy right, they come with lifetime warranties and some pretty amazing return policies.

Good luck with your shopping this special season and be wise - you can overpay for a simple ring in some of the expensive, glitsy mall stores that offer the same styles and features as online stores yet jack up their prices to pay for high rent and insurance!

Do online sites that advertise men’s rings also sell women’s rings?

Tuesday, May 12th, 2009

You wouldn’t think so but my research indicates that most stores - even those touting men’s rings only - actually sell a wide variety of women’s rings as well.

Take for example the mensringstore.com site. Although one would expect just men’s, they actually sell a surprising wide variety in sizes beginning at 4! That is not a man’s ring size!

Take for instance the Triton 21-2058S - this is a stainless steel ring beginning in size 4 - for women. Bottom line you can get matching rings for the man and woman by just shopping for the right size.

In checking further, there are over 50 styles that come in size 4 and above! 50! So, for those of you who need a female product - check them out and don’t let the name mislead you!!!

His and Hers matching ring sets

Wednesday, May 6th, 2009

My wife and I thought about getting a set of rings that would match - something that would last a lifetime and show that we thought deeply about the relationship and the idea of unity in a marriage. We first looked at all of the traditional places - like jewelry stores in the mall and in strip-centers.

Anyway, we started shopping on line and found that many of the sets were offered in a variety of sizes - from size 4 through 15 or sometimes even larger. That was all it took, we found a beautiful tungsten ring that we both liked and fortunately it was available in my size and hers!

In checking further we also found a set in stainless steel that we really liked as well. I guess the important thing to know is that you can find a ring and in most cases you can purchase it for the man or the woman, depending upon sizing. I would just recommend that before you buy you make sure the sizes are not just for men.

The Man and His Ring

Monday, April 20th, 2009

Rings are significant when considering a man’s personal persona - his character - his image. How so you might ask? A man chooses his jewelry very carefully, or at least he should. Why? Because he wears so few pieces. The ring he chooses makes a statement - for better or for worse. It makes a statement about who he is, what he values, what he stands for. It is visible and many times eye-catching.  One cannot wear it with uncertainty or anonymity. So, choose carefully.

A tungsten ring says something different than a stainless steel ring don’t you think? Tungsten stands for strength, for durability, it makes a fashion statement being a newer arrival onto the jewelry scene. Stainless steel is less expensive, does not have the strength and durability of tungsten yet can be quite a nice piece.

So no matter what you decide upon, make it yours. The product you wear says a lot about the man!

My Best Friend’s Wedding

Friday, April 17th, 2009

I know this is the name of a very popular movie with Julia Roberts. If you have not seen it it is worth watching - very funny and yet has a sweet message. I was thinking about this movie and realized that rings play a relatively insignificant part in the whole of marriage. I guess that is the way it should be - after all a marriage is made of love and budgets and children and earning a living and religion and in-laws and life’s ups and downs. So, why would a ring be important after all …

If anything a ring is symbolic. Symbolic of all of the above. It means commitment and loyalty and togetherness that somehow keeps the marriage together through again - all of the above. Many marriages fail and when considering the difficulties of life, it is understandable.

I was looking at men’s rings the other day and found a simple Stainless Steel ring that I liked. It was fairly inexpensive and I thought maybe I need something more expensive to bring a better self image, a better sense of I made it in life, to add to my manliness. Really? Why was I thinking that way?

All I need is something that says I have made the commitment - I have found my love and intend to remain with this person forever - whatever that means. So I am now wearing  the Lincoln from mensringstore.com. Under $100 and yet it is all I will ever need - at least that is my thought today. They have so many cool products I might change my mind if I look at the site again!!

Does your ring make the grade?

Friday, April 17th, 2009

If your ring were in school, what grade would it receive? An A? C? F?

Let’s set up a grading scale:

  • Drop a grade if it is scratched
  • Drop a grade if it looks old
  • Drop a grade if it looks discolored or tarnished
  • Increase your grade if it looks shiny and new
  • Increase your grade if it looks hot and fashionable
  • If you own one - add a grade f it looks rugged and manly

Here’s a few additional hints:

  • Tungsten rings look manly and rugged
  • Ceramic rings always look polished and fresh
  • Stainless Steel rings generally are scratch-resistant
  • Gold and Silver are not the hottest styles currently

OK. Now grade yourself again - what is your grade this time - has it changed from above? One last hint, you can find an enormous selection online. Or you can go to any mall and find nice selections as well - they just be priced a little higher than online stores.

Dollar Rings

Thursday, April 16th, 2009

Have you ever considered the difference between some of these gumball machine rings that you can buy for a quarter, or ones sold by street vendors for under $10, or maybe a bling typeon a web site for $29, to a fancier, more fashionable one at $150, all the way up to the mid to high hundreds and thousands of dollars?

Most of us who are buying for ourselves or a loved one would never consider the first three options - bling is simply not a fashion statement unless you are very young or have very poor taste! At least that is my opinion.

I found a web site the other day called mensringstore.com. Their stainless steel rings start at about fifty bucks and they have all sorts of styles in titanium and tungsten and ceramic rings. The prices range over a thousand dollars. But they appear to be highly discounted and each one carries a lifetime warranty against breaking and they even have a 30-day return policy if you get it and don’t like it.

Anyway, the search goes on but there is hope! I have found a store (albeit online) that I trust!

Should I have my sweatheart pick out my ring?

Tuesday, April 14th, 2009

Depends. Does she know what you like? How long have you known her? Would you feel comfortable picking out hers? Why or why not? Do YOU know what you want? Black? Gold? Diamond or CZ? Tungsten or stainless steel ring? Platinum? Comfort fit? Fancy designs? Plain? Inlaid? Bottom line - if you don’t care - let her do the work - you’ll be pleased with whatever she picks out!

I know a guy who is very particular. Knows exactly what he wants. It just so happens he wants a comfort fit titanium ring in that he is an avid golfer and loves his titanium clubs. He told me that if they are good enough to withstand his gold game, he wants a ring made out of the same stuff. Not a bad argument. What else does he want? He doesn’t really care - just so that it is made of this strong metal.

My advice to him. Tell his sweatheart about his feelings and then let her find the one she likes as long as it is made out of this metal. That way he is happy (or should be) and she feels included in the process. After all, she is 1/2 of this new relationship - she should feel included … don’t you think?

Men at war - what is the right ring for them?

Monday, April 13th, 2009

We have men from the US stationed all over the world - their lives on the line to safeguard our freedom each and every day. As a nation, it will be impossible to repay them for their sense of duty and love of country. Of course, we have many women serving just as unselfishly and offering their lives as a testimony to their commitment as well - daily!

I was wondering when focusing on the man at war - what type of ring they might wear in that I write exclusively about men’s rings. I cover all subjects - nothing barred or omitted except by lack of thought or creativity!

So what do you think? Certainly not a sissy one. And yet many of these heroes will probably wear a ring given to them by a loved one … and I would imagine that the quick glance at it brings back a flood of memories and emotion. My sense is that these men consider theirs far more than any other “type” of wearer in the men’s category. Doctors? No. Lawyers? No. Repair men? No. Professional sports men? Definitely not!

These heroes have every right to wear theirs with pride and honor and a sense of remembering - whether they are stainless steel rings or some other metal or material. Maybe in the end it doesn’t really matter what kind as much as it matters that we remember who these brave men and women are and that whatever they wear - it is right by us! Onward brave soldiers!
