Titanium Rings - Why so Popular?

Thursday, December 24th, 2009

Many reasons come to mind … first, they are durable! But until recently, the metal was too difficult to work into the detailed, intricate shapes with the detail necessary for fine men’s rings. But now, Titanium rings — including engagement rings and wedding bands — are one of the fastest, hottest, most in-demand sectors in fashion jewelry.

We found out that Titanium is similar to Tungsten when considering its unique combination of sheer beauty and durability but it is a far lighter substance than tungsten (more comparable to Aluminum in weight than to steel or a heavier metal).  is light weight an advantage? Many people want a light feel to their ring - not something that is so heavy as to be constantly aware that they are wearing something heavy on their finger. That is why these products are so hot and why they are given a run-for-the-money to Titanium rings.

Similarities? Like Tungsten, Titanium rings hold their shape and luster due to the nature of its extreme hardness – many say that titanium has the highest strength to weight ratio of any known element - but I could not verify that.

And if that is not enough - their are a few more characteristics that account for their popularity - they are also Cobalt free which is extremely important when considering potential allergic reactions. You will find that they do not rust and they are of course, due to its durability, scratch resistant.

Titanium 11-2009T Men’s Ring

Friday, September 18th, 2009

The Triton Collection model 11-2009T is a brilliantly brushed solid titanium ring with fashionable, world-class craftsmanship, and is protected by the Men’s Ring Store 30-day return policy with free lifetime warranty. Why titanium?

Titanium has been too difficult to work into the finely crafted shapes with the precision necessary for fine jewelry; however, today, these durable rings — including engagement rings and wedding bands — are a fast growing segment of the the fashion market in part due to the ability of the metal in today’s world to be carved and fashioned without losing strength.

Titanium and Tungsten are both unique in their sheer beauty and durability but a main difference is that titanium rings are far lighter than their big brother - tungsten carbide. Is light weight an advantage for Titanium rings? Many people think so when wearing this lighter variety - it feels as if nothing is on your finger and many men and women prefer this feel to the heavier tungsten.

His and Hers Wedding Rings

Tuesday, August 25th, 2009

An interesting thing comes to mind about a his and hers wedding ring. Would all couples like his and hers? Does it have special meaning when the mens ring matches the woman’s ring? Is there a hidden, richer symbolism behind a marriage where the rings match each other? Do all styles or rings have the capability of a his and hers matching quality? How often do you see a his and her matching style - is this common? My personal research indicates that it is not common, in fact it is very rare. And why?

There are many reasons but one of them is not that the newer fashions are not available in his and her styles. I checked out an online site that carried the Triton Collection and I noticed that virtually every style in titanium rings and tungsten rings had sizing from 4 to 15.5! Do men wear a size 4? No. Only women - so in just one store I found almost a hundred styles that were available not just for the man, but also - in exact matching detail - for the woman!

The more I have thought about it the more I like the idea. A bonding together, a sameness that expresses itself in common fidelity, in love forever. I like the idea that the man and woman share similar tastes, there is already far too much of being different and separate and individualistic in the world - don’t you think?

But there is more … what is important and beautiful to you is important and beautiful to me. What you like for you - I like for me. We can be different in so many varied ways - let’s make our ring selection be symbolic of a uniting of minds and hearts and of being one. In any event, they are available and they are plentiful and they are fashionable and priced right - so no excuses.

Is the economy affecting mens wedding ring customs

Thursday, August 13th, 2009

Today’s economy is anemic at best. Housing starts are almost non-existent, most trades people - particularly in the building industry have faced a grueling past 18 to 24 months. Stocks have soured until just recently. Car sales have plummeted along with corporate profits. There are more people out of work today than any time in the past 25 years. Many are calling this downturn the worst since the Great Depression. Everywhere you turn people are talking about how this affects them, what has happened to their 401K’s, and how they plan to weather the storm without loosing their home and possibly all that they have.

Has this affected the way we drive and what we purchase and how much we purchase and how we look at price and value when we do make  a purchase - I think the answer is yes! And yet, with the doom and gloom there are those who have managed to see through the storm, find their light and passion in something special to them, and have moved onward, forward, positively taking steps to help them not just manage the storms all about us but somehow to create a living - a good living - to inspire and motivate, to reach within and without and to somehow make the best of the bad.

One such company I have found - without mentioning the name of the store is an online seller of ceramic rings. Not just ceramic, but tungsten rings and titanium rings as well. They have managed to make their investments and to start optimizing their online web site in such a way as to really draw customers to exciting quality products at prices far below retail prices. The site is clean, it is easy to navigate and buyers are protected by using all major credit cards and PayPal as well. A little light in the storm maybe. If one company can do this - maybe there is hope for all. Send us your story of success … I think we can all use a little positive reinforcement!

Men’s Ceramic Rings - Get ‘em while they’re hot!

Wednesday, August 5th, 2009

Men’s ceramic rings - who would have ever thought of such a category in popular, men’s fashions? I have seen these growing in popularity over the last 4 years - they are now catching up with the hot new tungsten rings and even to some extent with the ever popular styles in titanium rings. In fact these three categories have blown by the more traditional styles in gold and silver. Why all the recent news and popularity?

There are of course many reasons but one top reason these ceramic styles are so hot right now is that they don’t just look fashionable, they don’t just look great and lustrous and eye-catching - they are priced to sell. You can get some of the cheaper ones for under $50! For the more discerning customer - you can find them for around $150-200 … these are the ones that are made better with more of a strict manufacturing process and are made with ceramic all the way through the ring rather than just plated on the outside.

You might check out the newest online retailers now - they sell cheaper than in stores because they don’t have the high rent costs and advertising costs and they don’t have to pay for as many employees and those costs that are associated with them. They simply build a web site for around a few thousand dollars and then wait for the rings to catch someone’s eye online! Now of course there are very sophisticated ways of making sure people see your products online - they call this Search Engine Optimization … but the bottom line is that the online seller must gather clients in one way or another.

So get out there and help these sellers - at least look at what they have to offer - particularly the new ceramic ring category - you’ll be happy you did when you join this new fashion train!

The new titanium men’s ring

Thursday, July 23rd, 2009

I can’t figure out how people come up with such creative ways of making things. Not just men’s rings I mean how they use substances like stainless steel for cars and plastic for cell phones and computers. I even saw a hand bad and a matching dress made of “duct tape”!!! Go figure. I guess that is why I am so intrigued with titanium rings.

I knew titanium was used for space age stuff like wings on space craft and in a number of athletic applications like golf clubs - but mens wedding rings?

Titanium rings hold their shape and luster due to its extreme hardness – in fact it has the highest strength to weight ratio of any known element. These and other characteristics make them the leading category in the men’s fashion jewelry industry.

Titanium is 99% pure in the leading manufacturers standards and nickel free. It is extremely lightweight and strong; is corrosion resistant and will not fade in the sunlight and has no known reaction to saltwater.

As stated, titanium rings have many positive characteristics when compared to other conventional materials - far stronger and harder and wears better and doesn’t mar easily. It is a lighter metal which allows for far more design opportunities. They are also Cobalt free which is extremely important when considering potential allergic reactions; it does not rust, is corrosion and scratch resistant and will never tarnish.

Due to its light weight, they are more durable and thicker than their counterparts in Silver, Gold and Platinum increasing the durability and potential for a life time of enjoyment. They are also more resistant to scratches and color abnormalities in that Titanium Rings are not “pigmented” or “painted”.

In summary - if you haven’t considered one of the newer entrants into the world of fashion jewelry - maybe it’s time you did!

Caring for your men’s ring

Wednesday, July 15th, 2009

Besides not wearing it - just putting it in the little black or emerald box it came in - how do you ensure that your men’s ring is going to look great for year’s to come? The answer might just surprise you…

Have you ever considered that what you buy might have the greatest bearing on caring for your ring? Really? Absolutely. Take a gold one for example - these tend to look great at first, are very traditional, are widely sold both in stores and online and range in price from a few hundred to tens of thousands of dollars. The problem is that they tarnish and scratch really bad over time. If you have ever owned one you know that they simply look used and old after only a few years. You can go in and have them polished and even plated but what a hassle. Silver - about the same issue.

Enter the new guys on the block! Take a tungsten ring for example. Even the sleek new titanium rings. They both look similar - a gun metal gray to black and highly polished. Tungsten - much heavier than titanium. But they both have something very desirable about the way they are made - almost indestructible. They are durable - known as the man’s ring! They keep their polish and their luster even after years and years of heavy, tough wear.

But that’s not all - the way you clean them - soapy water and a cloth. Are you kidding me? No, they are almost bullet-proof, they clean with soapy water and they have an eye-catching look that inspires.

Choice made - give me one of the new guys!

Titanium rings for sale - awesome ones!

Monday, July 13th, 2009

When I was shopping for a men’s ring, I had no clue as to what type I would end up with - I just wanted a cool looking one that didn’t cost me a fortune! I thought I would check out all of the normal places including the online stores. I found small ones and big ones, expensive ones and cheap ones, I found ones with diamonds and ones with CZ’s and I found some that had laser etched designs all throughout. The prices ranged from $49.00 to $1,000 plus. I had not a clue where I was headed with the final decision.

So here is what I did. I started with what I liked to look at - paid no attention to price - just what caught my eye. I won’t tell you where I ended up online but I will tell you that the ones I liked the best were all titanium rings. I can’t say it was because I liked the thought so much of wearing a ring made of this material, in fact until I started researching them I didn’t even know you could buy a ring made of titanium.

But I liked the look. They were all so cool. I found what was called the Triton Collection. They had a collection within a collection so to speak … they had styles with a Nitinol Cable inlaid into all of these rings. It looked so cool - they had plain, or with stones, they also had some with multiple strands of this cable but you could just tell that they were really well made and would last forever. In fact, this store had a lifetime warranty and a 30-day return policy. It didn’t take me long before the final decision had been made and I used my credit card when I purchased one for just under $500.00 - I figured I would buy right the first time and never look back. After all - it symbolizes a very long time relationship, loyalty and commitment!

Titanium rings versus titanium golf clubs: your pick!

Monday, July 13th, 2009

I first heard of titanium when I was studying airplane design and manufacturing in a physics class in college. There are many applications of this metal, one being in the manufacture of aircraft wings. One of the reason sis that titanium as a metal is extremely hard yet lightweight. Perfect for a wing on a plane! But there are a host of other uses.

Have you ever seen golf clubs made of titanium? Well they are. they use this durable material to plate the woods in many of the finer clubs. I don’t know if Tiger Woods (the number one golfer in the world) uses titanium clubs but for guys like me, they are plentiful and not too expensive.

I have also noticed that some of the finer jewelry stores sell titanium rings as well as gold and silver and tungsten rings. Can you imagine wearing a men’s ring made of titanium? Why use this material? Because it is, as stated above, very hard and durable, yet lightweight. I don’t know about you but I hate to wear heavy jewelry on my hand or fingers so this type is perfect.

I checked online at mensringstore.com. They offer a lifetime warranty on each of their many styles and a 30-day return policy and have great prices - discounted up to 57% off retail. So if youre looking for one of these, you might want to check them out!

Tungsten Rings versus all other ring styles and materials

Wednesday, May 20th, 2009

You hear a lot of press about Tungsten rings. Ever wonder why? I have tried to compare these to all the other ones on the market today. Here is what I found out:

  • Tungsten Carbide rings are a patented design - although many suppliers carry cheap varieties that are subject to law suit for patent infringement
  • They are one of the most scratch resistant on the market - with the possible exception of titanium rings
  • They are usually warranted for life and in many cases come with a 30-day return policy
  • These men’s rings have all kinds of different finishes - some with lustrous and beautiful finishes and inlaid materials
  • Prices range from $80 to upwards of $1,000 depending upon patented versus non-patented designs, country of origin, type of finish and inlay
  • These do not discolor, nor do they mar easily
  • They are one of the heaviest rings on the market today

Well, that is my summary - I hope it helps. I have studied these for over a year now and find them to be one of the finest - if not the finest - on the market today!
