Tungsten ring bullets

Thursday, April 9th, 2009

Did you know that bullets are mass produced all over the United States. They are everywhere. Everyone is hunting, and how do you typically hunt, that’s right, with a gun which of course shoots the bullets. But why not use something else besides how they are typically made?

Think about tungsten carbide. Such a strong metal, something that wont even scratch. But with this comes some bad news. Tungsten is so hard that it would shatter if ever shot from a gun. Why? When something doesn’t give at all, because of the extreme hardness, it will shatter into pieces. So instead of using this, I would say titanium is a much better option. I am not sure if this has been used before, probably because of the high cost. But these would not ever shatter, and might work for the future if these have not already been used.
