What’s the Fuss Over the Tungsten Carbide Ring Patent?

A few of the major jewelry manufacturers in the United States were recently sued because they were manufacturing Tungsten rings in violation of patent #TC-850. These manufacturers lost. They had to pay the patent holder considerable money to be allowed to still produce Tungsten Carbide rings. Other manufacturers may be infringing as well.

As I researched this topic I found that many large retailers (names you would certainly know) were also being sued for selling patent-infringing products.

One of only online location I have found to be legally selling these is Men’s Ring Store. They are licensed by the patent holder to sell on their site. I don’t know if they are the only online site selling legally, I only know that they advertise that they have chosen to abide by the patent and carry this collection as licensed by the owner.

Tungsten rings are cool - they look great, they have a msculine feel, they are virtually scratch-proof and most carry a lifetime warranty against breaking.
